Bye Bye June

good times and tan lines

Can’t believe it’s the last day of June already! I’ve kept myself busy teaching swimming lessons and studying for my NCSF cert (ugh, I hate studying during summer). Also have been enjoying sunny days at the pool and a couple of trips out to the beach. It’s all been good.

Tri For Old Glory is in T-minus 3 days, and I’m pumped. I hopped back on my IronFit plan for Olympic distance this past week and it’s felt good to have something to follow. This will be the first time I compete in an Olympic distance triathlon in over a year. Olympic distances are tricky because they’re not short enough to sprint everything, but they’re not long enough to pull back for lasting endurance. So, we’ll see how it goes. The main thing to remember is this is supposed to be fun, right?

4th of July plans are kinda up in the air because we plan on traveling back home that day. But it’s one of my favorite holidays so I’ll be sure to at least see fireworks and light some sparklers somewhere.

Next month is my Birthday Month! Headed into my 30th year! Gotta make the month full of great memories and fun. You can never start celebrating too early!

Happy Summer! I’ll be sure to TRI WITH JOY on Sunday!

Summer Update

So, it’s been 4 weeks since IMTX. It’s been nice not having such a strict training schedule, but it’s also a weird “what am I supposed to do now?” feeling. I did get my tattoo, but haven’t been in a pool to actually swim in about 2 weeks. Mike and I signed up for the Olympic distance Tri for Old Glory which is on July 3, so I DO have something to start training for and I’m excited for that. Other than that, my first week of summer vacation has been wonderful!

TRI WITH JOY!
